The Baptist Catechism here reproduced was first published in the last decade of the seventeenth century, and has since stood the test of time. It is based on—and largely agrees with—the Westminster Shorter Catechism, but is distinctively Baptist in doctrine, and has been used by Christians consistently throughout the last few centuries. We publish this new edition, which includes the Scripture proofs from the Authorized Version, with the prayer that it finds much use in Christian homes today.
